We're Home...

Tyler and I had a wonderful trip to California. Our flights were great, the weather was great and our time together was great. We arrived in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon. Friday we started our journey home. We spent the night in Yreka and drove to Mt. Shasta and Portland the next day. We met up with our friends Doug & Kristi Saturday night and went to this awesome new restaurant called the Rock. It was so fun spending time with them. Sunday, Tyler and I took the public train into the downtown area of Portland. It was just like any other big city. Dirty and full of bums. We stuck out like sore thumbs and were happy to make it back to our hotel safely:) Today we took the truck to the Altec shop to work out a few bugs. While the truck was being worked on, we went to Multnomah Falls. It was beautiful. We always drive by on our way to and from the Oregon Coast, but we have never stopped to really see it. It was worth the stop! Lunch at the Lodge was good too. We finally arrived home this evening. We could hardly stand the last 15 minutes of the drive as the suspense of seeing McKinley was killing us. She was pretty excited to see us, but I'm pretty sure we were more excited to see her:)

Housekeeping...

As my mom so kindly pointed out, I have totally spaced posting a recipe every week. What can I say? Better things to do I guess:)
So here you go. I made this the other night and it was a hit with the hubby as well as the peanut...

Hamburger pie
1lb. burger
1 can green beans, drained
1 can tomato soup
1 package instant potatoes (plus ingredients to make them-milk, butter)
½ cup cheddar cheese
Cook burger, drain. Add beans and tomato soup; mix. Transfer to pie plate or small casserole dish. Mix potatoes according to package directions. Drop potatoes by spoonfuls onto meat mixture. Top with cheese. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes.
I used 4 cheese Idaho instant spuds.

So, there you go.

Tyler and I are going to California tomorrow. I'll post pictures and update the blog next week.

The Best Things In Life Are FREE...

This box has some serious art work on the outside...you should see the inside:) It's a good thing crayola makes washable, non-toxic markers!

What more could a girl want?

Mission...

She is getting into mischief- can you tell?

We have ourselves one heck of an outdoor girl!

Grandma Shirley spoiled her great-grandaughter with fun new toys:)

We stayed at this great cabin on Mission Ridge this weekend. Toddy, Kathy, Tyler & Grandma Shirley were there as well. We ate great food, enjoyed the mountains & the beer at the lodge:) On Saturday while Todd & Kathy skied and the Tyler's snowboarded, McKinley and I snowshoed up a trail. We met some nice fellow shoe'rs and had fun watching the skiers and boarders. After lunch at the lodge, we headed back to the cabin for naps (yes, me included!)

Pool...

Stacy & I took the kids to the pool yesterday. They (and we) had a great time. The water was warm and there was fun music playing in the background. We hope to make it a weekly play date as the little ones need some action.

Riggin'...

Happy New Year!*!^#&!!!

Dan, Miranda, Garrett, Tyler and I went to our family cabin for New Years. What is normally a 40 minute drive took us over 2 1/2 hours due to the HUGE snow drifts. Luckily we all have jeeps and put the wenches to the test. The WARN wenches for all of you hillbillies!

We wish you the best in 2009!
